Many times have I failed You
No matter how hard I tried
Difficulties blocked the view
The way ahead denied.
The hurtful words I have spoken
Pierced your heart like a knife
My lies echoed in the den
Of thieves torn apart by strife.
I am a blunder.
In pain of guilt I saunter.
I am a cheat.
Entangled in the web of deceit.
I am lost.
Wandering no matter what the cost.
My Jesus, I ask forgiveness
For all the wrongs I have done.
I long for You with gladness.
With you I may be one.
Create in me a clean heart
That we may never part.
Blot out all my sins.
In this warfare I want to win.
This is my gift to You, dear Lord
To live according to Your Word.
For peace and love to reign
In everyone's heart You ordain.
Happy Birthday Jesus!
