Moment with You

Lent is a time for self-purification. A time to renew and deepen our relationship with God. A time to forgive and be forgiven. A time to heal and be healed. A time for love and peace to reign in our hearts. A time to savor the saving power of Christ's passion and death. A time to love and live for others.

Lord, now is my moment with You.
Let nothing come between me and You.
My life is worth living because of You.
I am nothing without You.

You are here!
you are!

You woke me up
with the sound of your rain
splattering on the roof.
You kissed my cheeks
with your light breeze.
You tickled my nostrils
with the salty smell of your sea.
You touched my skin
 with your cool mist.
You thrilled me
with the sweetest song
of your sundering waves
 crashing into the shore.

These are a few of my favorite things in life.

Your Divine Presence
 is felt
speaking of Your steadfast love.
The horizon testifies.
My soul watches
 by the magic of nature.
My heart prays
 in gratitude
 for this needed respite
My spirit sings
in exultation!

I  rejoice

You are here!
Yes, Lord
You are here!

Love's Mirror

 my heart's reflection
love's mirror beholds your face
 visions of desire

At the Crossroads

I'm at the crossroads
to let go or suffer pain
faith moments on fire

Hope beckons to win
an indecisive battle
 my restless heart screams

God's wisdom I ask
the choice is mine to ponder
to endure or die

The Challenge

The volcano in man erupts
even in the spring time
of one's life.
No matter how angelic
my being yearns to be,
monstrously unfair
breathing creatures
lambaste and stab.
My back arched in pain.
What then is righteous anger
if the core seethes in frustration?
Vengeance is a challenge
like Rabbi who made a whip.
