A Glorious Page

everyone's delight
a glorious page of our life
a bundle of love

quietly he comes
his face, a joy to behold
my newborn grandson

A Toddler's Chant

Mommy I got a boo-boo!
I cut my finger
while playing peek-a-boo!

Achoo! Achoo!
My nose smells too
Mommy I gotta poop!

Mommy, look here!
I painted a deer
On your sheets so clear!

So yummy Mommy!
Your red lipstick
On my fingers I lick!

Hush Mommy!
Please hug me tight
and sing me goodnight!

Laughter Haiku

he's going senile
old bettina laughed out loud
his belt slipped his mind

-

live a healthy life
activate the laugh reflex
hearty laughter rocks

-

induce your good mood
let out a burst of laughter
chuckles and giggles

Scarred

i am a seashell
one among many
i have cuts in my shell
wounds in my skin
because
i was tossed
to and fro
by the waves
and the winds
of life's oceans
calloused by
the rough sands
i am complicated
mysterious
yet
fascinating
inevitable change
comes
but the marks
remain
my uniqueness
stands out
i am
aesthetically
scarred

Believe in Magic

Believe in magic, my little girl.
I promise you, I will be there

To watch your dance and lovely gait
And clap my hands in euphoric state.

But here I am in a crowded street
With yellow daisies for your feat.

God, I whisper, soar me high
On wings of my umbrella I will fly

Just right in time for the curtain call
And kiss you goodbye for your ball.

Underneath

serenity thrives
after the rage of cold storm
the wreckage remains

only sturdy trees
with unquestionable pride
stood up unshaken

the descending mist
was not too prompt to cover
the home for lovers

their souls still unrest
travel underneath the calm
whimper in anguish

Simply Beautiful!

life
is
simply beautiful!
i wake up
each day
in gratitude
for
a fresh start
a new beginning
to live anew
to love deeper
to share more
to give life
to smile a lot
to work harder
to serve better
to be humble
to be patient
with problems
to forgive others
and
myself
for yesterday's guilt
and
hope
for today's pardon
to pray unceasingly
and
transform my life
into
a life of prayer
