Just As

 on my way to Seoul Tower atop Namsan Mountain, Seoul, Korea

Just as

the leaves

sway and dance

to the tune of the wind

and say, "thank you wind,"

Just as

the dark night 

gets illumined

by the fullness of the moon

and says, "thank you moon,"

Just as

the roots of the rainforest

quench its thirst

from the refreshing waters

of the soil

and say, "thank you water and soil,"

Just as

the butterfly

feasts on the honeyed nectar

of the evening primrose

and says, "thank you evening primrose,"

Just as

the baby

feeds on the milk

from her mother's breast

and coos, "thank you Mom,'"

for a beautiful morning,

                                                                 for my husband,

                                                                  for my children,

                                                                   for the trip to Korea, 

                                                                    for good health,

                                                                     for sickness,

                                                                      for friendships,

                                                                       for financial blessings,

                                                                        for failures,

                                                                         for answered prayers,

                                                                          for community,

                                                                           for the gift of life,

                                                                            for Your presence in my life

                                                                             and in every person I meet,

                                                                               my heart says,

                

                "Thank You Very Much, My Lord and My God."
